Well my final race of 2020 is done, this past weekend I ran the Smuttynose Rockfest Virtual Half. Now we all know in person races just aren’t happening right now, so running around my neighborhood is what had to happen. Rocked all the orange, as I had sneakers I had bought earlier this year all saved for this race, just sad no one else saw it but me and few people I passed on my run.
I decided to keep it pretty slow and just enjoy the run. I don’t really enjoy virtual racing and anytime I try to do it fast I just don’t, so going into this I knew I would just go at a comfy pace.
After the race, I hung out at the virtual afterparty, they had live music and gave away some very cool prizes and the whole this was hosted by fellow BibRave Pro Ryan Day, who did a great job. Should be getting the swag soon and once I do, I will be sure to post it on the gram.
Overall, it wasn’t a bad time, I did enjoy the run and the weather was great. But I am glad to be done with races and the disappointment of 2020. Hoping for some better times in 2021, and maybe getting to run this race in person next year.
My fellow pro and friend Riley also ran this, here is a link to her blog about it
